Emile Munier - French painter



Emile Munier - French painter, was born June 2, 1840 in Paris. His father, Pierre François was an artist-Draper and worked on the production of National tapestries, his mother, Mary Louise Carpentier, worked polisher cashmere fabrics. Emile and his two brothers while also working on the production of tapestries, but later became a talented painters.

Studying and working at the same time, Emil became friendly with the professor Abel Lucas and his family. As a result, he married the daughter of Abel Henrietta.
Emil Mounier was a big supporter of the ideals of academic painting and a follower of William Adolphe Bouguereau (William Bouguereau), whose talent has become one of the important factors of inspiration for young Mounier. Mounier and Bouguereau became friends. In 1867 Henrietta Mounier had a son, but after six weeks postpartum Henrietta died. In 1871 the artist gave up work as a draper and devoted his time picture, he also began teaching art classes for adults. Much of the collection of paintings by Emil Mounier now kept in the Museum of Art g.Nyu Orleans.

Artist died June 29, 1895, a few weeks after his 55-year-old birthday.
